NEW! COLLEGE RECRUITING INFORMATION

CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES

New for the for 2011-12 season, Lisa Halvorsen, along with other Crossfire staff and coaches will be available to those athletes/parents interested in hearing more about the college recruiting process. We will also update this page regularly with new information and updates. Please feel free to contact Lisa at lisa@gocrossfire.org if you have questions that you can't find here.

One of the first things you should do is educate yourself about the Rules and Regulations of each division you are interested in. The rules for Division I, II and III, and NAIA vary greatly and it's important to understand the differences.

Navigating the Recruiting Process (where do I begin?)

  • The AVCA has provided an informative video about taking college campus visits. "Official and Unofficial Visits",  (provided by Tonya Johnson, Head Volleyball Coach at Georgia Tech)

National Letter of Intent (NLI): (What is it?)

HELPFUL WEBSITES and TIPS:

  • Get registered on University Athlete. Most college coaches use this tool to find out about players
  • RichKerns.com is another great website that is loaded with useful information for all divisions
  • Click here for a useful "What's Important To You" list. Once you've made your list. Start contacting coaches that fit your list. Be realistic about your potential to play at a particular university
  • When sending an introductory email to a coach always include a link to a YouTube video. The video should be 3-5 min of skills/highlights of you and once on YouToube they should be able to watch 15-20 minutes of unedited game footage that clearly shows the whole court (best if shot from the endline).
  • Be sure to include your name and jersey #/color in the Title of any video you send
  • For basketball players, get registered on www.getrecruited.com
